Our Story

Volcano Development for Children (VODEC) is an NGO in Tanzania founded in 2011, registered in March 2012 under NGO 0005346. We operate as a voluntary body in the United Republic of Tanzania Mainland, with the vision of working to help children from poor families in urban and rural spaces.

Our membership is open to any registered association, organization, or institution established for social development, social welfare, or charitable purposes. We have over 20 full and part-time members dedicated to our cause.

Our Location

Volcano for Children Development (VODEC) is located in Arusha Region and rooted in Arusha – with offices at Kibanda Cha Maziwa in the Northern part of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Our Founder

The founder of VODEC is Mr. Emanuel Muhindo from Arusha, Tanzania. His vision and dedication have been instrumental in establishing and growing VODEC into the organization it is today.

Our Goals

Enhance community participation and inclusion in taking care of their vulnerable people through training, networking, policy analysis, lobbying and advocacy to improve their social well being.

With over 15 years of experience in community development, Emmanuel founded VODEC in 2011 to help vulnerable children in Tanzania.

Programs Director

Sarah oversees all VODEC programs, ensuring they align with our mission and effectively serve our beneficiaries.

Mr. James Mwenda

Finance Director

James manages VODEC's finances with transparency and accountability, ensuring resources are used efficiently.
